will be the 1st International Natural Gas for Vehicles event for South Asia and will be held at the new state-of-the-art EXPO XXI Centre in New Delhi from 24th – 26th March 2009.

India has the 5th largest fleet of natural gas vehicles in the world but most importantly holds the highest NGV growth potential in the world with over 220 cities planned for CNG development, a nationwide distribution pipeline and voted the number one overseas NGV investment opportunity at the previous Natural Gas for Vehicles event in Bangkok.  By 2012 India’s CNG pipeline will stretch 12,000 km, connect 15 states and reach a population of 160,000,000 people.

New Delhi has been selected as the host city for NGV India 2009 as the pioneer of India’s CNG public transport conversion and due to its position as India’s largest CNG infrastructure with fueling stations, serving at present over 150,000 vehicles. In New Delhi alone there are 4 million registered vehicles with 963 new vehicles being added to the Roads daily, CNG is the fastest growing fuel-type sector.

The exhibition will feature all the latest technology from throughout the world, providing the latest solutions to India and South Asia’s booming NGV markets. The exhibition will be supported by the industry technical and training forum presented by the global industry specialists to ensure a complete platform for the region’s CNG stakeholders and technology providers.

NGV India 2009 is supported by Gail (India) Ltd., India’s principal natural gas transmission and marketing company with equity states in CNG and City gas ventures not only in Delhi but also Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh, Tripura, Kanpur, Vadara, Lucknow and Agra.

Why exactly has India become the most exciting NGV market in the World? The facts speak for themselves and the opportunities are breathtaking!
India, performing at 9% GDP growth and 11-13% industrial growth, is currently the 5th largest NGV market in the world with 28 city projects in process, involving 450,000 vehicles and 373 stations.
However, over 220 cities are planned for CNG development involving more than 12,000 km of networked pipeline, this is additional to the Iran-Pakistan- India pipeline (IPI) and the Turkmenistan-Afganistan-Pakistan-India pipeline (TAPI). By 2009 gas availability in India will double.
Organising the event will be two of the World’s leading NGV event specialists, BES (Bangkok Exhibition Services), as part of Allworld Exhibitions, and NGV Network.
Both Allworld Exhibitions and NGV Network have a history of NGV industry events, with Allworld Exhibitions organising Natural Gas Vehicles Events in 2005 and 2007 and NGV Network having an industry relationship dating back to 1999, including organising the first NGV Industry Development Workshop in Manila (2003) and in 2007 in Bangkok.
As specialists in the Oil and Gas industry since 1976 Allworld Exhibitions organise exhibitions in 17 countries through an alliance of 34 companies. NGV Network, the conference organisers in both Bangkok and New Delhi, are also the publishers of NGV Global and editors of the IANGV news forum.
In 2007 Allworld Exhibitions worked in cooperation with NGV Network and host, TANGV, to organise the Natural Gas for Vehicles event in Thailand attracting a staggering total of 9,369 professionals from 59 countries and 187 participating companies from 25 countries.
